Victory -- Thy Name is Um, Erm, ...

Well, that was a tough one.

On the heels of learning that McSwiggan's One is in a tie for third place, our band of vagabond heroes set out against Filthy English. (Editor's note: Not one of their players was from England, or even Great Britain. Though in terms of demeanor, they did seem oddly ... Canadian.)

Morgen Peck started out strong, and cruised to her second straight victory. Max Ernst shook off his last two losses, and got back on the horse called Crushing Your Enemies Mercilessly. Sam Hubball had a somewhat smaller horse, but it was strong enough to deliver Sam her first victory in a game (!) and push her opponent to drop two hard shots at the end of the hill-hill game to secure the win. Our Top Gun point leaders Danny Irizarry (#3) and Tim Malloy (#1) were not up to their usual snuff, though, and Filthy English escaped with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory.

The Color of Money

Thanks to Kerin Conroy, who figured out how much money we owe to the league. The amounts were included in an e-mail from him last night, and won't be re-printed in this public forum. Please make an effort to get him (or his designated agent) the money next week. For those who may be strapped for cash, Kerin reports that he would be willing to accept sexual favors instead. Or at least I think he did.

Next Week

And, finally, a head's up about our next game. We're back at the Parkside Lounge, 317 East Houston Street at Attorney Street, to face off against the Parkside Stragglers. They are rumored to be habitually late.

See you then.
